Additional incentives for young VIPs (on an EU and the national levels)

Unit 3 Additional incentives for young VIPs (on an EU and the national levels)

Content

The unit aims to train participants to reflect and search for additional active employment schemes thought for broader target groups (NEETs, long term unemployed people, young women, apprenticeship job contracts etc.). The latter may be cumulative to the incentives aimed only at VIPs. Participants will experience a search for national, regional, local calls eligible for young VIPs.

The last session foresees 30 minutes of group activity. The trainer asks participants to work in groups and identify five individual incentives. The incentives are designed for broader groups but applicable also to VIPs.

Objectives

Attendants will be able to:

  • Think outside the box and overcome the boundaries of benefits and tax reliefs aimed only at VIPs to identify other incentives that may contribute to the successful inclusion to the labour market.
  • Research and use online resources to look for those benefits;
  • Assist (could be a mock exercise) a person with visual impairments in accessing financial benefits originally destined to broader target groups;
  • Support employers in understanding how they can benefit from financial reliefs (when employing a VIP) not necessarily destined to VIPs only.
  • Support employers in understanding how they can benefit from financial reliefs (when employing a VIP) not necessarily destined to VIPs only.

Advice for the organiser

The organiser should have identified in advance some of the cumulative benefits (for young VIPs and employers) that would like to present to participants. Hint: incentives/active employment schemes could be:

  • The National Civil Service; is designed for youngsters, therefore, you may suggest it as a way to enter the labour market to a young VIP;
  • Garanzia Giovani: it’s an Italian measure that foresees paid internships for NEETs or young people aged 18-29 or 18-35. It may represent a way to start cooperating with an employer. The internships fall to the scheme of the European Social Fund;
  • Apprenticeship job contracts foresee tax reliefs for employers that hire young employees under the age of 30;
  • National, regional, local (from Municipalities) calls for applications.

The trainer should adjust the session according to the context of the workshop.
