Unit 2 Financial benefits foreseen for VIPs – National levels.

Content

The unit aims to identify and present the financial benefits/tax reliefs foreseen for the employments of VIPs, according to the National law of the partners’ Country (BE, ES, GR, IT). National laws are based on European legislation and the UN Convention on the Rights of People with disabilities.

Objectives

Attendants will be able to:

  • Familiarise with financial benefits foreseen for the employment of VIPs;
  • Explore, delve and apply online resources to identify incentives, financial benefits or subsidies to facilitate the access of young VIPs to the job market.
  • Assist (it can be a mock session) a person with visual impairments in accessing financial benefits that can boost their employment.
  • To simulate a hiring process of hiring employees with visual impairment problems.

Advice for the organiser

The organiser should prepare in advance and be aware of the financial benefits, tax reliefs or other incentives available at the moment in the specific context of the workshop. The organiser should research beforehand which authorities or services derogate funds or assist users.

Learning methodologies

Short frontal lectures with visual support, class discussions

Resources available/ needed

  • Good quality WiFi network with a reliable Internet connection
  • Projector
  • Coffee tables and Chairs set in a semi-circle
  • Smart phones, tablets or laptops for all participants.
  • Assistive technology software installed if required.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the workshop session the participant shall:

Knowledge

  • Have an overview of the Country-specific laws that govern the financial benefits and tax reliefs foreseen for the employment of VIPs;
  • Identify suitable websites with contents related to the financial benefits for the employment of VIPs;
  • Identify the authorities or entities that derogate the benefits, grants and subsidies and manage the accompanying services.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Internet search to identify different incentives that can facilitate the inclusion of young VIPs in the labour market.
  • Reaching out to offices and staff responsible for the incentives that facilitate the access of VIPs to the labour market.

Competences

  • Ability to assist young VIPs with incentives that facilitate easier access to the labour market.
  • Ability to support the youngster in overcoming challenges in accessing the benefits.
  • Ability to assist employers that would like to use the financial benefits, tax reliefs or other incentives available when hiring a young visually impaired employee.
